Annual Events:
We usually have an Annual bus trip held in October or November.
Places we have visited in the past are.
Garden of St Erth, Mt Macedon area, Castlemaine Festival of Gardens, Geelong
Area, Kyneton Open Gardens,
Daylesford Area including Rocklyn Roses, Norgates, Springhill Roses, Tangled
Maze, Tylden Nursery and many more.
Our range of guest speakers covers a wide range of interests.
We are always looking for new speakers or suggestions for a new topic.
We often have Social evenings such as our Christmas in July Meeting, when we
share a meal and enjoy each other's company. Some meetings are spent
organizing an upcoming event, swapping cuttings, plants, handy hints etc.
We have a trade table if anyone has some surplus veges, fruit, seedlings etc
or books, magazines, information sheets or anything that someone else might
find useful.
We also have a very informal competition each meeting. This consists of
members bringing along a flower or vegetable from their garden. (Not
necessarily perfect, just one they like.) The winner each month receives 3
points, all others receive 1 point each. At the end of the year the person
gaining the most points receives a small gift.
In 2005 we published a Recipe Book. We hope to do another one this year
which will be available in late November.
We are a very informal group that share a love of gardening. New members and
visitors are always very welcome. There is no age limit as anyone can enjoy
gardening.
