Driving to Clunes from Melbourne
It is a pleasant and easy 1 1/2 hours drive
to Clunes from Melbourne CBD
The roads are excellent and well sign-posted
- Cross the Westgate Bridge and take the highway to Ballarat (M 8)
- After passing Ballarat take the turn off marked "Clunes, Creswick" (A 300) towards Creswick
- Pass through Creswick take the C291 towards Clunes
Once in Clunes we strongly suggest that you use one
of the marked public car-parks (blue rectangles, please see above) and simply catch the continuously
running free shuttle to the village centre. The parking fee is only $5 per car and it includes programs for all adult passengers. The proceeds from
this fee is going entirely to the booktown organisation and
ensures that access to all events and venues is fee of charge.

Saturday, May 3rd: Bus will meet the
train that leaves Southern Cross Station at 0908 and
arrives Ballarat 10.37
Will leave Clunes at 16.15 to catch the train in
Ballarat at 17.07, arriving Southern Cross Station at
18.26
Sunday, May 4th: Bus will meet the
train that leaves Southern Cross Station at 0928 and
arrives Ballarat at 10.53.
Will leave Clunes at 16.15 to catch the train that
leaves Ballarat at 17.07, arriving Southern Cross
Station at 18.26
Fares: Ballarat - Clunes return $12.00
Concession $10 - includes program. Return
fare only.
